The Lahnerhof is located above Sterzing on the sunny side of the valley and is an ideal starting point for quiet walks, short hikes or mountain tours in nature. Between the Eisack Valley and the valleys of Ratschings, Ridnaun, Pflersch and Pfitsch, a varied mountain landscape opens up with meadows, forests and wide views.
Many paths start directly around the Lahnerhof and lead through peaceful landscapes above Sterzing. Again and again, beautiful views open up over the Rosskopf, the Eisack Valley and the surrounding mountain peaks. Here, movement in nature and moments of peace combine in a very natural way.
Our tips for relaxing hours in nature
Numerous walking and hiking trails start directly from the Lahnerhof. Particularly popular is the Thuiner Kirchsteig, which leads from the village of Thuins through meadows and forests down into the old town of Sterzing. Alpine hikes, for example to the Freundalm or up to the Rosskopf, also offer beautiful views and typical South Tyrolean alpine culture. Those who want to go further can walk along the Eisack Valley cycle and walking path towards Franzensfeste or Brixen.
Around the Lahnerhof, many quiet places with wide views over the Wipptal also invite you to linger.

The mountain landscape around Sterzing shows itself in ever new ways throughout the year. In spring, blooming meadows and the first warm rays of sunshine transform the Eisack Valley into an ideal region for walks and easy hikes.
In summer, the valleys of Ratschings, Ridnaun and Pfitsch invite you to varied excursions. Hiking trails lead to rustic alpine huts, clear mountain streams and beautiful viewpoints. The Jaufen Pass and the Penserjoch also offer impressive panoramas and are popular starting points for tours.
Autumn is considered particularly atmospheric when the forests turn warm colors and the clear mountain air creates perfect conditions for hiking. A highlight is the sunrise tour to the Zinseler, where the first rays of sunshine illuminate the mountain world.
In winter, the Rosskopf as well as the valleys of Ridnaun and Ratschings turn into a quiet snowy landscape. Winter hiking trails and snow-covered forests invite you to relaxing nature experiences.
