At the entrance to the Ratschings Valley, above Sterzing, the Lahnerhof is nestled in a sunny position in the mountain landscape of the Wipptal. Our family-run hotel in Sterzing has combined warmth with modern comfort for generations.
Right on the doorstep, your active holiday in South Tyrol begins: hiking trails, the surrounding ski areas and the diverse nature around Ratschings and Ridnaun invite you to move and explore. Afterwards, you can relax in the wellness area with infinity outdoor pool and sauna area or enjoy sunny hours on our panoramic terrace.

Meet the Mair family
The Lahnerhof is more than a hotel – it is a place with history, grown from genuine South Tyrolean hospitality. Around 50 years ago, the Lahnerhof was founded by the Mair family and built up with great dedication. Gerhard Mair took over the business from his father at a young age.
Over the years, the Lahnerhof has been continuously developed and rebuilt several times, most recently comprehensively modernized in 2023, whereby tradition and contemporary comfort were harmoniously combined.
Today, Gerhard and his wife Irina run the Lahnerhof together and live here with their three children Anna, Juri and Adrian. The close connection to the family is also reflected in the house: the three most beautiful family suites bear the names of their children and give the Lahnerhof a particularly personal touch.

Pack your skis, snowboards, toboggans, and snowshoes and come to Lahnerhof! Our incredible location at the entrance of Val Racines/Ratschingstal, close to the three ski areas Racines-Giovo/Ratschings-Jaufen, Ladurns, and Monte Cavallo/Rosskopf, guarantees the ultimate winter holiday. Of course, you can hire the equipment at the ski rental directly at the slopes.
Our Lahnerhof is an ideal place for families with children. The quiet location in the middle of green meadows offers plenty of space to discover nature. Our hotel also offers a games room for teenagers and a playground with sandbox and slide. You’ll find information about our children’s rates here.
Business travellers will find a haven of peace here at Lahnerhof. After a day’s work, you can relax during a leisurely walk amidst nature or a visit to our wellness area. Despite the quiet location, you’re just a short distance away from your business meeting: The town centre of Sterzing can be reached in a 5-minute drive. Brixen is also just half an hour away. Of course, you’ll have access to free Wi-Fi throughout our hotel.
